Officials. Argh

Government officials and banks irritate me today. Firstly, when applying for a permanent residency under the grounds of marriage, I have received several letters from government bodies with the prefix “Miss“. I mean, is that supposed to be funny? If you’re not sure about it, leave it out completely, thank you.

Then they want statutory declarations of your relationship being real from Australian citizens. Of migrants. Like us, we don’t have friends here yet, apart from the family, but there’s plenty back in Finland. I don’t know if they approve citizen declaration if it’s certified by a Finnish person, I suppose, but still, it’s a bit funny.

And banks. International money transfers here. I’m glad there is an internet bank to use, but they made the international money transfer so tricky, that it’s amazing if we get anything paid back at home. (We still have some running costs there, like loan payment and car insurance until my dad sells the car… Seems to be tricky.) Luckily it was mostly the setting the account up for it, but blaah. Maybe I’m just used to getting things done easy.

Okay, I need to get dressed. :D I wish I didn’t have to, but it’s freezing cold in here and there’s delivery guys to be expected during the day so I suppose I have to. :(

Props and friends and bloody cudos

Do you ever get the feeling of being used? The latest thing that brought up this feeling was Social Spark. I’ve got tons of friends already, and I haven’t said a word there. I have props for nothing, but my mail box is full of messages “gave you props, hope you do the same for me.” I mean… If props come for nothing, the site would have a field “edit your own props”, and I would find that more appealing than logging in a hundred times to give props for nothing… If you consider spending countless hours a day visiting people’s profiles for props ‘doing nothing’. The only thing they really want is to boost their own ranking I’m sure… I’m sure there’s a ranking list of most popular sparkers somewhere…. I’m just sick and tired of these empty popularity contests that require no merit at all from anyone. Count MySpace and the sort to the list.
