Artists make me tired.

I just found a blog that was just absolutely sweet. Unique, totally. A cartoonists website. Do you get the feeling, when you see something really artistic, that you have to try something like that too? I do, every time. I’ve seen soaps I want to try to make, cartoons, doodles, bead necklaces, book bindings and what not. I want to try that! At the same time, it is so easy to look at what you do yourself, as something quite ordinary. What ever you do yourself, to you it is ordinary. You know how to do it, it comes out naturally, without much of an effort. Someone else would be lost trying to do what you do. But you go: “oh that’s not art, that’s just something I doodle!” But doodles, they are so often so fantastic! A lot of people have their own special thing they doodle. I doodle paper cones. Like the ones in the photo.
What do you doodle? We all know you won’t make money out of it, (well, probably) but it doesn’t mean it’s not art. We could call it disposable art, borrowing the term from my husband who writes “disposable poetry”. Do you have any doodle art on your desk? I love doodling, as you can probably tell by my blog.
I normally doodle some eyes first and then create something around it, I never erase anything, just keep going until something random has evolved.
It works really well when I have had a horrid day at college or life in general, as a doodle says more than words sometimes.

I found your site through EntreCard yesterday, and it was my inspiration for the post. :p I thought it would be so cool to just doodle something that is actually artistic and not just paper cones and squares and a few flowers here and there. :p But then I thought that should I try that, it wouldn’t be “real” as it doesn’t come naturally. I do other stuff naturally, but not drawing. Of the messy thoughts came this messy post, but I do thank you. 
That made me laugh when you wrote that over on BC and I was a bit embarrassed!
I only started doodling again because of blogging, I was sick of looking for images on google when writinga certain post. So I started on the paint program thats with windows. Then I started doodle week with another blogger and from there a monster was born!
I think you should have a whirl at doodling other stuff, its fun

That certainly works the treat, doesn’t it?
I may just try something, even though drawing isn’t really my forte… I take it too seriously I think. I can doodle things that are in no way valuable, but if I attempted to make something a little more than a doodle, I don’t know if I could.
