About me

Me on Kingston Beach in Tasmania

I am a married woman born in Finland in 1976 but living in Australia since April 2008. I have always loved writing, and I have dreamed about something like the Internet before it was invented – not that I really could see what it would be in all actuality. Blogging is a natural development after writing online for 10 years – I started my first website in 1998.

You might find references to Narcissistic personality disorder here. This is because I used to run a support group for the wives of narcissists and learned a lot about that particular disorder doing that. (On the side I got to know a bunch of others as well, but not on as deep level.)

After a long hard think about how I would describe my writing & the blog, I came up with this: I write opinionated creative non-fiction with a twist of humour. Later I added: This blog is a collection of answers people don’t want to hear to questions they didn’t ask. I do recommend my Sebastynisms -page, which is a great place to get to know the bite of my tongue. (If you follow one link on this page, that would be the one to go for.)

The reason why I blog, apart from reasons I blogged about here, is that I am always hoping to find a small cluster of people who enjoy writing online and discussing things that matter to all of us. I am not aiming to have one of the top 100 most popular blogs out there, but I would love to have an active community of clever and humorous people from all walks of life. My ultimate wish is to start a lively discussion board that would co-exist with my blog, creating a place that a lot of people would consider a home of a sort. It is not an easy task, without a defined niche topic, but it is rewarding when you succeed. (And crushing when something goes wrong and the community fails.)

To finish off with a lot of sentences beginning with “I”: I own a male field spaniel. I am married to an Australian guy. I don’t have children and I don’t want any. I collect & modify Barbie and run the coolest web community for Barbie-collectors. I am a writer, and I have published an ebook about online dating, and you can get it by signing up on my dating site MyNook.com.au.
